Cook unbreaded frozen shrimp directly in your air fryer for juicy, plump results with lightly browned edges in under 15 minutes. This is the fastest way to make weeknight seafood.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb large frozen shrimp (peeled and deveined, tail on or off)
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper

Instructions

  1. Place the frozen shrimp in a single layer in the air fryer basket. Do not overcrowd the basket; cook in batches if necessary to maintain crispness.
  2. Drizzle the olive oil over the frozen shrimp.
  3. In a small bowl, mix the garlic powder, paprika, salt, and pepper. Sprinkle this seasoning mix evenly over the shrimp.
  4. Set your air fryer to 380°F (195°C).
  5. Air fry for 8 minutes.
  6. Open the basket, shake the shrimp well to redistribute seasoning and promote even cooking.
  7. Continue to air fry for another 3 to 5 minutes, or until the shrimp are pink, opaque, and cooked through. Total cook time is usually 11 to 13 minutes.
  8. Remove immediately and serve with your choice of dipping sauce or add to tacos or salads.

Notes

  • For best results and to prevent sticking, you can lightly spray the air fryer basket with cooking spray before adding the shrimp.
  • If you prefer a garlic butter flavor, substitute the olive oil with 1 tablespoon of melted butter and add 1/2 teaspoon of dried parsley to the seasoning mix.
  • If your shrimp are very large, they may require 1-2 extra minutes of cooking time.
