A quick and flavorful Cajun-spiced tuna steak with a restaurant-style crust, perfect for grilling, pan-searing, or air frying.

Ingredients

  • 2 tuna steaks (6 oz each)
  • 1 tablespoon blackened seasoning
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • Optional: Avocado-mango salsa for serving

Instructions

  1. Pat the tuna steaks dry with paper towels.
  2. Rub both sides of the tuna steaks with blackened seasoning.
  3. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat, or preheat your grill or air fryer.
  4. Sear the tuna steaks for 2-3 minutes per side for medium-rare, or longer for your desired doneness.
  5. Serve immediately with avocado-mango salsa if desired.

  • For medium-rare tuna, aim for an internal temperature of 115-120°F (46-49°C).
  • For medium tuna, aim for an internal temperature of 125-130°F (52-54°C).
  • For well-done tuna, aim for an internal temperature of 135-140°F (57-60°C).
  • You can marinate the tuna in a mixture of olive oil, lemon juice, and Cajun spices for 30 minutes before seasoning for extra flavor.
