Make this easy, no-cook chocolate overnight oats recipe that tastes like rich brownie batter. It is perfect for meal prep and provides a high-protein, satisfying breakfast you can grab and go.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1/2 cup rolled oats
  • 1 tablespoon chia seeds
  • 1 scoop chocolate protein powder (optional, for high protein)
  • 2 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 tablespoon maple syrup or sweetener of choice
  • 1/2 cup milk (dairy or non-dairy)
  • 1/4 cup Greek yogurt (optional, for extra creaminess and protein)
  • 1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Pinch of salt
  • Optional toppings: chocolate chips, peanut butter, fresh berries

Instructions

  1. Combine the rolled oats, chia seeds, protein powder (if using), cocoa powder, maple syrup, milk, Greek yogurt (if using), vanilla extract, and salt in a jar or container with a tight-fitting lid.
  2. Stir or shake the mixture well until all ingredients are fully incorporated and there are no dry clumps of oats or cocoa powder.
  3. Seal the container and place it in the refrigerator for at least 4 hours, or preferably overnight.
  4. In the morning, check the consistency. If the oats are too thick, add a splash more milk until you reach your desired creamy texture.
  5. Add your favorite toppings, such as a drizzle of peanut butter or a few chocolate chips, and eat cold.

Notes

  • For a vegan option, use plant-based milk and skip the Greek yogurt, or substitute it with a dairy-free yogurt alternative.
  • If you prefer a richer, darker chocolate flavor, use dark cocoa powder or add a few drops of black food coloring.
  • This recipe is excellent for batch preparation; make 3-4 jars on Sunday for an easy grab and go breakfast all week.
