- 2 cups fresh or frozen strawberries, hulled and halved
- 2 cups fresh or frozen cranberries
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1/4 cup lemon juice
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/2 teaspoon ground allspice
- 1/4 teaspoon ground cloves
- 1 box (1.75 oz) powdered fruit pectin
- 1/4 cup water
- Prepare your water bath canner, jars, lids, and bands.
- In a large saucepan, combine strawberries, cranberries, sugar, lemon juice, cinnamon, allspice, and cloves.
- Stir in the powdered fruit pectin and water.
- Bring the mixture to a rolling boil over high heat, stirring constantly.
- Boil hard for 1 minute, stirring constantly.
- Remove from heat. Skim off any foam with a spoon.
- Ladle hot jam into hot, sterilized half-pint jars, leaving 1/4 inch headspace.
- Wipe jar rims clean and place lids and bands on.
- Process in a boiling water bath canner for 10 minutes (adjust for altitude if necessary).
- Remove jars from canner and let cool on a wire rack.
- Check for seals after 12-24 hours.
Notes
- For a smoother jam, you can pulse the berries in a food processor before cooking.
- Adjust spices to your preference.
- Ensure your jars are properly sterilized to prevent spoilage.
- This jam will keep for up to a year when properly canned.
