Make this warm, cheesy baked garlic bread dip for a simple, crowd-pleasing appetizer. It combines cream cheese, mozzarella, and roasted garlic for rich flavor perfect for dipping bread.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 8 ounces cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese, divided
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1/4 cup sour cream
  • 2 tablespoons butter, melted
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced (or 1 teaspoon roasted garlic paste)
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 cup chopped fresh parsley, for garnish
  • Crusty bread or crostini, for serving

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375 degrees Fahrenheit. Lightly grease an 8-inch pie dish or small oven-safe skillet.
  2. In a medium bowl, combine the softened cream cheese, sour cream, melted butter, minced garlic, Italian seasoning, onion powder, salt, and pepper. Mix until smooth.
  3. Stir in the Parmesan cheese and 3/4 cup of the mozzarella cheese until just combined. Do not overmix.
  4. Spread the mixture evenly into the prepared baking dish.
  5. Top the dip with the remaining 1/4 cup of mozzarella cheese.
  6. Bake for 18 to 22 minutes, or until the dip is hot throughout and the cheese on top is melted and lightly golden brown.
  7. Remove from the oven and let it cool for 5 minutes before serving.
  8. Garnish with fresh parsley. Serve immediately with slices of warm, crusty bread for dipping.

Notes

  • For a richer flavor, use roasted garlic instead of fresh minced garlic.
  • You can prepare the dip mixture up to one day ahead and store it covered in the refrigerator. Add 5 minutes to the baking time if baking cold.
  • This dip pairs well with crackers, tortilla chips, or vegetable sticks if you want alternatives to bread.
