Make tender, juicy steak bites effortlessly in your slow cooker. This recipe uses simple ingredients for a flavorful, set-it-and-forget-it weeknight dinner.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 lbs sirloin steak, cut into 1-inch cubes
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/4 cup butter, cut into pieces
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/2 cup beef broth
  • 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 2 tablespoons cold water

Instructions

  1. Place the cubed steak into the slow cooker insert.
  2. Sprinkle the steak with salt, pepper, and garlic powder. Toss to coat the pieces evenly.
  3. Scatter the butter pieces over the steak.
  4. Add the minced garlic, beef broth, Worcestershire sauce, and soy sauce to the slow cooker.
  5. Cover the slow cooker and cook on low for 3 to 4 hours, or on high for 1.5 to 2 hours, until the steak is tender.
  6. In a small bowl, whisk together the cornstarch and cold water to create a slurry.
  7. Stir the slurry into the slow cooker liquid.
  8. Cover and cook on high for 10 to 15 minutes, or until the sauce has thickened.
  9. Serve the crockpot steak bites over mashed potatoes or rice.

Notes

  • For extra flavor, sear the steak cubes in a hot skillet for 1-2 minutes per side before adding them to the slow cooker.
  • If you prefer a richer sauce, substitute the beef broth with red wine.
  • This recipe works well with sirloin or tenderloin steak cuts.
