Make these simple and budget-friendly tuna patties for a quick and satisfying meal.

Ingredients

  • 1 (5 ounce) can tuna, drained and flaked
  • 1/4 cup mayonnaise
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • 1/4 cup bread crumbs
  • 2 tablespoons finely chopped onion
  • 1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil

Instructions

  1. In a medium bowl, combine the drained tuna, mayonnaise, beaten egg, bread crumbs, chopped onion, parsley, salt, and pepper. Mix well.
  2. Shape the mixture into 4 equal patties.
  3. Heat the vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
  4. Carefully place the tuna patties in the hot skillet and cook for 4-5 minutes per side, or until golden brown and heated through.
  5. Serve hot.

Notes

  • Serve with your favorite tartar sauce or a squeeze of lemon.
  • These patties can also be baked at 375°F (190°C) for 15-20 minutes, flipping halfway through.
  • For crispier patties, use panko bread crumbs.
