Make this simple, cheesy Hawaiian roll garlic bread. It combines the sweetness of the rolls with savory garlic butter and melted cheese for a fast, crowd-pleasing side dish.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 package (12 count) King’s Hawaiian sweet rolls
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/4 cup fresh parsley, chopped
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese (optional, for cheesy version)
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Lightly grease a 9×13 inch baking dish.
  2. In a small bowl, combine the melted butter, minced garlic, parsley, oregano, salt, and pepper. Mix well to create the garlic butter.
  3. Keep the Hawaiian rolls connected in their original package or arrange them closely together in the prepared baking dish.
  4. Use a knife or skewer to poke holes all over the tops of the rolls, going down into the bread but not all the way through the bottom.
  5. Pour the garlic butter mixture evenly over the tops of the rolls, allowing the butter to soak into the holes and crevices.
  6. If using cheese, sprinkle the mozzarella cheese evenly over the rolls, followed by the Parmesan cheese.
  7. Cover the dish tightly with aluminum foil.
  8. Bake for 10 minutes covered.
  9. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 3 to 5 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly and the edges are lightly golden.
  10. Serve immediately while warm and soft.

Notes

  • For a quicker bake, you can skip the foil for the first 10 minutes if you prefer a slightly crispier top.
  • If you do not want cheese, simply omit the mozzarella and Parmesan.
  • You can substitute fresh garlic with 1 teaspoon of garlic powder for a faster preparation.
