Make this unique dessert by wrapping warm, spiced peach filling inside egg roll wrappers. You can fry them for maximum crispiness or use an air fryer or oven for an easier preparation.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 10 Egg roll wrappers
  • 2 cups Peaches (fresh or canned, drained)
  • 1/2 cup Sugar
  • 1 tsp Cinnamon
  • 1 tbsp Lemon juice
  • 1/2 cup Cream cheese (optional, for creamy filling)
  • 1 Oil (for frying or brushing)
  • 1 tsp Powdered sugar (for dusting)
  • Vanilla Glaze Ingredients: 1 cup Powdered sugar, 2 tbsp Milk, 1/2 tsp Vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Prepare the peach filling: If using fresh peaches, dice them small. Combine the peaches, 1/2 cup sugar, cinnamon, and lemon juice in a saucepan. Cook over medium heat for about 8 minutes until the peaches soften and the mixture thickens slightly. If you want a creamy filling, remove from heat and stir in softened cream cheese until smooth. Let the filling cool completely.
  2. Assemble the egg rolls: Lay an egg roll wrapper flat on a clean surface with a corner pointing toward you. Place about 2 tablespoons of the cooled peach filling near the bottom corner.
  3. Fold the bottom corner up over the filling. Fold the left and right corners inward toward the center. Moisten the top edge of the wrapper with water using your finger. Roll the wrapper tightly away from you until sealed. Repeat with remaining wrappers and filling.
  4. Cook the egg rolls: For frying, heat about 1 inch of oil in a skillet to 350°F. Fry the egg rolls for 2-3 minutes per side until golden brown and crispy. For baking or air frying, lightly brush or spray the rolls with oil. Bake at 400°F for 10-12 minutes, flipping halfway, or air fry at 375°F for 6-8 minutes until golden.
  5. Prepare the vanilla glaze: Whisk together the powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla extract until smooth. Add more milk if you prefer a thinner consistency.
  6. Toss and serve: While the egg rolls are still warm, toss them lightly in a mixture of cinnamon and powdered sugar, or simply dust them. Serve immediately with the vanilla glaze for dipping.

Notes

  • For a vegan option, omit the cream cheese and ensure your egg roll wrappers do not contain egg.
  • If you use canned peaches, drain them well before mixing with the spices to prevent a watery filling.
  • You can make the vanilla glaze ahead of time and store it in the refrigerator.
