Make this festive Peppermint Espresso Martini for your next holiday gathering. This recipe balances rich espresso flavor with cool peppermint and a creamy texture, offering a sophisticated winter cocktail.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 oz Vodka
  • 1 oz Freshly Brewed Espresso, chilled
  • 0.5 oz Coffee Liqueur (like Kahlua)
  • 0.5 oz Peppermint Schnapps
  • 0.5 oz Cream or Half-and-Half (for creaminess)
  • Ice
  • Crushed candy canes or chocolate shavings for rim and garnish

Instructions

  1. Prepare your martini glass by moistening the rim with a lime wedge or water, then gently press the rim into crushed candy canes or chocolate shavings. Set the glass aside.
  2. Combine the vodka, chilled espresso, coffee liqueur, peppermint schnapps, and cream into a cocktail shaker filled with ice.
  3. Seal the shaker tightly and shake hard for about 15 to 20 seconds until the shaker is very cold and a nice froth develops on top.
  4. Strain the mixture through a fine-mesh sieve into your prepared martini glass.
  5. Garnish with a few coffee beans or a sprinkle of crushed peppermint on top. Serve immediately.

Notes

  • For a richer, mocha flavor, substitute 0.25 oz of the cream with chocolate syrup before shaking.
  • If you do not have peppermint schnapps, you can use 0.25 oz of peppermint extract mixed with simple syrup, adjusting the amount to taste.
  • Always use freshly brewed espresso and chill it quickly; warm espresso will melt the ice too fast and dilute the drink.
