Make this quick, naturally sweet, and refreshing watermelon smoothie in five minutes. It uses frozen fruit for a creamy texture and is perfect for a healthy breakfast or hydrating summer snack.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 cups fresh, cubed watermelon (partially frozen is best for texture)
  • 1 cup frozen strawberries
  • 1 small ripe banana (fresh or frozen)
  • 1/2 cup unsweetened vegan yogurt or dairy yogurt
  • 1 tablespoon fresh lime juice
  • 1/4 cup water or plant-based milk (add more if needed for blending)

Instructions

  1. Prepare your fruit. If your watermelon is not already frozen, cube it and freeze for at least 30 minutes for the best creamy result.
  2. Place the watermelon, frozen strawberries, banana, vegan yogurt, and lime juice into your blender.
  3. Pour in the initial 1/4 cup of water or milk.
  4. Start blending on a low speed, gradually increasing to high. Use the tamper if necessary to push the ingredients toward the blades.
  5. Add more liquid, one tablespoon at a time, only if the mixture is too thick to blend smoothly. You want a thick, creamy consistency.
  6. Blend until completely smooth and uniform in color. This should take less than one minute once the ingredients start moving.
  7. Pour the smoothie into a glass immediately and serve for a refreshing treat.

Notes

  • For a low-calorie smoothie, skip the banana and use only frozen watermelon and strawberries.
  • To boost protein for a breakfast smoothie, add one scoop of unflavored or vanilla protein powder before blending.
  • If you want a vibrant presentation, layer the smoothie with a layer of plain yogurt or blend a small portion with extra lime for a tart topping.
